CONNECTION OPEN DOORS WITHOUT FRONTIERS WITH DANÇA SEM FRONTEIRAS E ANDARES DANZA INCLUSIVA

Proposal: The two companies will hold workshops with dancers from both countries and the movement of each with its insight and beauty reflecting the distinct cultures of the two countries and celebrating their diversity of language. Meeting and residence in Patagonia – San Martin in Neuquem with both companies and open to the community.
An open online DanceAbility Jam will also be held, so that people from other territories can participate and share the methodology of the two companies and the work in progress.
Objectives:
- Develop research and collaboration between Brazil and Patagonia through Dança sem Fronteiras and Andares Danza Inclusiva/DanceAbility International between dance and improvisation of all diverse bodies.
- Promote accessibility in dance and provide access to dance for all audiences.
- Create a new contemporary dance action/intervention in collaboration between two cultures and dancers with and without disabilities.
- Share and tell the journey in the field of dance and diversity, creating a space for exchange and memory.
- Expand audiences for dance.
- Promote accessibility to contemporary dance, encouraging accessible professional practice and propagate an art that is accessible to all.
- Address, in a poetic way, issues we are experiencing today.
- Encourage and stimulate reflection on diversity through professional and contemporary dance actions with dancers with and without disabilities.
- Promote reflection on dance as an accessible art that reflects social diversity.
- Develop accessibility to contemporary dance and to art in general, encourage accessible professional practice and propagate the concepts involved in this project.
- Break and question labels and prejudices around the concepts of “dance”, “disability” and “professionalism”.
- Expand interest in the inclusive approach to the work of Dança sem Fronteiras and Andares Danza Inclusiva/DanceAbility International, nationally and internationally.
- Carry out workshops, mediation actions on dance and creation that include the diversity of its participants.
Rehearsals, Research and Filming – with Dança sem Fronteiras – Theme stone, wind and the city
Andares Danza Inclusiva, is aimed at all people with or without disabilities and carries out activities that include open classes, workshops for the general public and training days for people who work in relation to people with disabilities. During the 9 years of this project, open classes were held in Neuquén capital, Rincón de los Sauces, Chos Malal, Junin de los Andes, Cipolletti and San Martín de los Andes. Two casts were formed to perform presentations and interventions and collaborate with the dissemination of inclusion and dance in schools, elderly care centers and recreational spaces. Andares Danza Inclusiva collaborated with more than 100 institutions in the province and participated in the Latin American dance and integration meeting also in the capital
