Haze Glimpsed
2014/2017 – In 2013, the company was awarded a subsidy from Proac for the production of an original performance, of Haze Glimpsed.
The performance is based on the work of the photographer and philosopher Evgen Bavcar, more specifically on the book ‘Memories of Brazil. It´s also based on the experiences and lives of the company´s members and in the continued research on the sense of sight and the experiences of trying other ways to see and to relate to the world of images, thinking of the visual impairment as another possibility of perception. The performance set a parallel between Bavcar´s act of photographing without seeing and the choreographic construction of the company´s interpreters with mixed abilities. There were four versions of the haze glimpsed, in different theaters; all versions had an audio description performed by Lívia Motta, in an already consolidated partnership between the DANÇA SEM FRONTEIRAS – DANCE WITHOUT BORDERS Company and the See with Words Company.
“As a spectacle of “dance for everyone”, Olhar de Neblina (Haze Glimpsed) starts from the aesthetic proposal that, by addressing differences, they do not make concessions in the search for a professional art for the contemporary scene. To do this, its multiple artists not only dance about their challenges, but act on themes that poetically cross the challenges of all of us.’’ Cassia Navas
